WANT TO MAKE SOME MONEY? We are interested in organizing a one-day craft fair for seniors to sell crafts for extra income as part of an RSVP fund-raiser. Call us at
(757) 595-9037 if you or someone you know would be interested.
NEW OPPORTUNITIES We welcome two new stations to RSVP. The Ferguson Center for Fine Arts at Christopher Newport University needs greeters, ticket takers, coat checkers, ushers and elevator monitors at events throughout the year. Volunteers may observe performances such as Ella Fitzgerald, Doc Severinson and his big band, Hal Holbrook’s “Mark Twain Tonight,” New Shanghai Circus, the Academy of St. Martins in the Fields and many other shows as well as student performances at no cost. The Center needs adult volunteers of all ages. Morningside Assisted Living in Williamsburg needs persons to assist with various activities for residents.
DON'T FORGET

The Autumn Senior Safety Summit is October 20. Send us your $5 registration right away if you have not done so.·
-

Make a will if you have not and review your will if you have not done so for some time. Not having a will can create problems for your heirs. Consider leaving even a small amount to your favorite charity. Most people support charities during their lives, but not in their wills.
The RSVP Advisory Council Needs You
The RSVP Advisory Council has openings for membership. The Council meets five times per year to learn about and advise staff about the program. Members are links between the greater community and RSVP. They also assist with special events, such as our 80+ Birthday Party, Volunteer Recognition, Outstanding Volunteer Recognition and our fund-raising lunch and silent auction. Current volunteers make great members because they know the program. Will you consider becoming a member? The time commitment is minimal and helps our efforts greatly. You are welcome to attend a meeting to see what the Council does. Call us to learn more.
WELCOME new members Iris Allen-Brunson, James & Marilyn Burney, Eunice Parks, Melvin Rhoads, Eleanor Sornkatch, Virginia Trinkle and Harriett Pinkney.
IN MEMORIUM: Albert Rozokot and Rosemary Pat Kelliher.
